The Alumni Meet & Farewell Program 2026 was successfully organized on 25th April 2026 at the S.M. Kuvelkar Seminar Hall, college campus, with great enthusiasm, joy, and active participation from students, alumni, and staff members. The event served as a wonderful platform to reconnect with alumni, celebrate the achievements of outgoing BE students, and strengthen the everlasting bond between the institution and its extended academic family.

The program witnessed the gracious presence of the Honourable Management, Director Prof. (Dr.) J. B. Sankpal, I/C Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Sharma, Heads of Departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members, alumni, and students. Their presence added dignity and inspiration to the occasion, making the event truly special.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address followed by inspiring speeches from dignitaries and faculty members. Alumni members shared their professional journeys, valuable experiences, and career guidance with the students, motivating them to confidently step into the professional world. The farewell ceremony for outgoing BE students became an emotional and memorable moment for everyone present.

The celebration also included cultural performances, musical sessions, entertainment activities, and interactive games that created a lively and cheerful atmosphere throughout the seminar hall. Group photographs, felicitation moments, and memory-sharing sessions added warmth and nostalgia to the gathering. The event concluded with a delightful lunch session that provided an excellent opportunity for networking, reconnecting, and informal interaction among alumni, faculty, and students.

Dr. Pooja Sharma (HOD, 2 patents), Dr. S. V. Reddy (6 patents), Prof. Pooja V. Pawar (6 patents), Prof. Santosh Kawade (2 patents), Prof. Ashwini Bhosale (1 patent), Prof. Ashwini Wadekar (1 patent), Mrs. Sangita Vinod Biradar (1 patent), Mrs. Snehal Sitaram Wagh (2 patents), Mr. Pratapbhan Singh Sarjan (2 patents), and Mr. Avinash Balajirao Surnar (2 patents) from the Computer Engineering Department have successfully filed multiple design and utility patent applications in emerging technological domains including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Medical Imaging, Blockchain, Smart Automation, Environmental Monitoring, and Digital Platforms. The patent applications were submitted to the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks and Indian Design Patent authorities during April 2026, with the main batch filed on April 16, 2026, and are currently under technical examination and review.

The patent filings demonstrate strong collaborative research culture within the department, involving faculty members, researchers, and student innovators working together on industry-relevant technological solutions. Several patents focus on cutting-edge AI-driven applications such as AI-Based Deepfake Forensic Visualization Design, AI-Based Fake News Detection Dashboard Design, AI-Based Phishing Website Detection Device, Visual Dashboard Design for Medical Imaging Analysis System, and Portable Device for Real-Time Environmental Change Detection and Notification. The department also contributed to innovative projects including Blockchain-Based Peer-to-Peer Vehicle Sharing Platform, AI Website Builder, PersonaAI: Mental Health Digital Twin, and AI Powered Personal Finance Assistant System.

Institutional impact and recognition: This achievement highlights SRTTC's commitment to fostering innovation and intellectual property development. The patent applications reflect the institution's supportive research environment and the dedication of faculty members to pushing technological boundaries while mentoring students in practical research and innovation activities.

Environmental Initiative: Earth Day Pledge Activity

Earth Day Pledge Activity

The Department of Civil Engineering organized a meaningful Earth Day pledge-taking activity titled "Save Our Mother Earth" on April 22nd, 2026, in Classroom No. 3004. The initiative aimed to sensitize students about environmental protection and highlight the vital role of civil engineers in sustainable development, aligning with Program Outcome No.6 regarding societal and environmental aspects in engineering problem-solving.

Online pledge participation: Students participated in the activity through the official MyGov portal (pledge.mygov.in/save-earth/), taking the "Save Our Mother Earth" pledge and submitting their e-certificates to the department. The pledge emphasized key responsibilities including conserving natural resources, reducing pollution levels, and adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life, reinforcing the commitment to environmental stewardship.

Successful outcome and impact: Seventeen students from the Civil Engineering Department actively participated in the activity, demonstrating their dedication to environmental responsibility. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance and coordination of Dr. Mrunal Joshi, HOD of Civil Engineering, helping instill a strong sense of environmental awareness among future civil engineers who will play a crucial role in building a sustainable future.

Achievements of Dr. R. V. Babar, Head of Department, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS)

He successfully completed a one-week Faculty Development Program on “Artificial Intelligence in the Era of Agents and Automation” organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune, from 30th March 2026 to 3rd April 2026. The FDP focused on advanced concepts in Artificial Intelligence, intelligent automation systems, autonomous agents, and future-ready AI technologies, providing valuable exposure to modern industrial and research-oriented applications.

Adding another remarkable achievement to his academic profile, he was appreciated for his valuable contribution as a Course Design Member for the NEP 2020 Curriculum Design of Master of Engineering (Electronics & Telecommunication – Internet of Things), 2025 Pattern under Savitribai Phule Pune University. His contribution played an important role in strengthening outcome-based education, industry-oriented curriculum planning, and integration of emerging technologies aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

Further strengthening his professional contributions in academics, he has also been appointed as a Board of Studies (BOS) Member at autonomous institutions including Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering & Innovation, Varale for the Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) departments.

In another notable academic achievement, he was officially invited as a Board of Studies (BOS) Member for the Autonomous Institute – Padmabhooshan Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Technology (PVPIT), Budhgaon, Sangli under the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department. The invitation was extended for participation in curriculum structure discussion, syllabus revision, course outcome planning, and other important academic quality enhancement activities conducted as part of autonomous curriculum development.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) organized an expert lecture on “AI for Digital Marketing” on 15th April 2026 to provide students with exposure to the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence in the field of digital marketing. The session was conducted by Mr. Rohit Deoo, Founder of Alive Digital Group of Companies, Pune, who shared valuable industry insights and real-world experiences with the students.

The lecture aimed to help students understand the role of AI in modern digital marketing and introduce them to AI-powered tools and technologies. The session also focused on exploring real-world applications of AI in marketing strategies and enhancing students’ understanding of data-driven decision-making processes used in the digital business environment.

Session Highlights: During the session, the speaker explained how Artificial Intelligence is transforming digital marketing through automation, analytics, and personalized customer engagement. Students were introduced to AI tools used for marketing automation, campaign optimization, customer engagement, and data analytics. The lecture also highlighted AI-driven content creation and Search Engine Optimization (SEO), demonstrating how AI tools assist in generating content, suggesting keywords, and improving website rankings effectively.

Key Outcomes: The expert lecture proved to be highly informative and interactive. Students gained knowledge about AI-based content creation, SEO strategies, customer behavior analysis, predictive analytics, and audience targeting techniques. They also learned about marketing automation methods such as email campaigns, online advertisements, and chatbots for customer interaction. The session enhanced students’ awareness of emerging AI applications in digital marketing and encouraged them to explore innovative career opportunities in this domain.

Expert Lecture: Concrete Technology

On 8th April 2026 , the Civil Engineering Department hosted an expert lecture on Concrete Technology, presented by Mr. Pratik N. Patil, an experienced professional in concrete mix design and construction practices. The session aimed to strengthen students' fundamental knowledge and bridge the gap between theory and real‑world applications, focusing on the procedures outlined in IS 10262.

The lecture covered the systematic steps of concrete mix design, including material selection, proportioning, and calculations required to achieve desired strength and durability. Practical examples illustrated how these concepts are applied in actual construction projects, emphasizing quality control and material testing.

Students left the session equipped to perform IS 10262 calculations and apply concrete mix design principles in their future work. Feedback highlighted the clarity of explanations and the value of industry insights, with participants rating the lecture as very good to excellent.

Webinar Series on Emerging Technologies

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) successfully organized a “Webinar Series on Emerging Technologies” with the objective of introducing students to the latest advancements and industry practices in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The webinar sessions provided students with valuable technical exposure and insights into rapidly evolving technological domains.

On 6th April 2026, the department conducted a webinar on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning” for SE, TE, and BE students. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 65 students. The webinar focused on the fundamentals of AI and ML, current industry trends, real-world applications, career opportunities, and future scope in intelligent technologies. Students gained a better understanding of how AI and Machine Learning are transforming industries across the globe.

Continuing the initiative towards advanced technical learning, an online webinar on “Machine Learning System Design” was organized on 17th April 2026 for SE, TE, and BE students. Around 70 students actively participated in the session. The webinar highlighted important concepts related to scalable machine learning systems, deployment architecture, model optimization, data pipelines, and real-time AI applications. The session provided students with practical insights into designing efficient and industry-ready ML systems.

The webinar series proved to be highly informative and beneficial for students by enhancing their awareness of emerging technologies and encouraging them to explore innovative research and development opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The AI&DS Department remains committed to organizing such technical initiatives to strengthen students’ industry readiness and professional growth.

Faculty Development Program Participation

The faculty members of the Department of Computer Engineering actively participated in various Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) organized by reputed institutions. These programs enhanced their knowledge in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, accreditation practices, and innovative teaching methodologies.

A group of faculty members including Mr. Nishiket Bansode, Dr. S. V. Redy, Ms. Pooja Pawar, and Ms. Snehal Wagh participated in the one-week FDP on “Generative AI for Academia” conducted by JSPM’s RSCOE, Department of Computer Science and Business System, from 20th April to 25th April 2026. The program focused on the application of Generative AI tools in academics, research, content creation, and modern teaching-learning practices.

Ms. Ashwini Bhosale attended the FDP on “Artificial Intelligence in the Era of Agents and Automation” organized by Vishwakarma Institute of Technology from 30th March to 3rd April 2026. The sessions provided exposure to intelligent automation systems and emerging AI technologies.

Mrs. Sangita Biradar participated in the FDP titled “Integrated Machine Learning and AI for Scalable IoT Solution” organized by the Department of CSE(AI), VIT College Pune, from 13th April to 17th April 2026. The FDP focused on AI-enabled IoT solutions and scalable smart system development.

Mr. Santosh Kawade attended the FDP on “NIRF, NAAC & NBA – Synergy and Alignment” from 6th April to 10th April 2026. The program emphasized quality assurance practices, accreditation frameworks, and institutional development strategies.

Technical Learning Beyond Classrooms

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) organized a series of expert sessions under the theme “Technical Learning Beyond Classrooms” to provide students with practical exposure to emerging technologies, industrial applications, and professional skill development. These sessions aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world technological practices.

On 6th April 2026, a Guest Lecture on “Project Data Management & Business Analytics” was conducted for SE, TE, and BE students. The session witnessed active participation from around 88 students. The lecture focused on effective project planning, data handling techniques, business intelligence tools, and analytics-driven decision-making processes used in modern industries. Students gained valuable insights into the importance of data management and analytical thinking in engineering projects and business environments.

Further strengthening industry-oriented learning, the department organized another expert session on “Azure Fundamentals & AI Engineering Using Azure” on 10th April 2026 for students of AI&DS, Computer Engineering, and CSE (Data Science). More than 112 students participated enthusiastically in the session. The lecture introduced students to cloud computing concepts, Microsoft Azure services, AI engineering practices, and deployment of intelligent applications using cloud platforms. The hands-on exposure and practical examples helped students understand the growing significance of cloud-based AI solutions in today’s technology-driven world.

These technical initiatives provided students with an excellent opportunity to interact with experts, explore advanced technologies, and enhance their practical understanding beyond the regular academic curriculum. The AI&DS Department continues to organize such enriching activities to promote innovation, technical competency, and industry readiness among students.

Online Quiz Series on Social Reformers

The Department of Library, SRTTC-FOE, Kamshet, Pune, successfully organized two Online Quiz Competitions on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Babasaheb R. Ambedkar during April 2026 to spread awareness about the lives, social reforms, and inspirational contributions of these great leaders.

The quizzes were conducted through an online platform and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the institute. Around 75 students participated in the quiz dedicated to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, while the quiz organized in memory of Dr. Babasaheb R. Ambedkar received an overwhelming response with participation from nearly 192 students.

The activities aimed to encourage students to understand the importance of social equality, educational reforms, women empowerment, constitutional values, and humanitarian principles promoted by both reformers. Participants actively engaged in answering questions related to their life journeys, visionary thoughts, and remarkable contributions toward society and nation-building.

The Library Department efficiently coordinated both events by ensuring smooth execution, timely communication, and easy accessibility of quiz links and instructions. The successful organization of these quizzes helped promote awareness, learning, social responsibility, and value-based education among students while honoring the enduring legacy of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Babasaheb R. Ambedkar.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) organized a Parents Meeting on 10th April 2026 for the parents of SE, TE, and BE students with the objective of strengthening communication and collaboration between the institute and parents for the overall development of students.

The meeting was conducted in the presence of the Head of Department and faculty members of AI&DS. Around 20 parents actively participated in the interaction session. The discussion focused on students’ academic performance, attendance, placement preparation, skill development activities, and overall progress.

Faculty members shared valuable insights regarding departmental initiatives, technical training programs, internship opportunities, and career guidance activities conducted for students. Parents were also encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement in academic and co-curricular development.

The meeting created a positive platform for meaningful interaction and mutual understanding between parents and faculty members. Such initiatives play a vital role in ensuring collaborative growth, academic excellence, and holistic student development.

Notable Internship Selections: Multiple students from the 2027 and 2028 graduation cohorts secured valuable internships at Unessa Foundation, focused on performance‑based practical experience. The selected achievers include Sahil Nangare, Vinal Patil, and Vishal Kokate from the Computer Science & Engineering department, alongside Renuka Ghewande from the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science department. These positions offer great opportunities to build hands‑on expertise in data science and engineering.

Outstanding Job Placement: Highlighting the placement success, Atharv Ganbavale, a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science & Engineering) student from the 2026 graduating batch, secured an exceptional full‑time job placement at Sharpener. The package, valued between ₹3,00,000 and ₹5,00,000 per year, marks a significant launchpad for his professional engineering career.

Babar, Mr. Sumit Mali, Ms. Anushka Joshi, and Ms. Bhagyashree Patil successfully participated in the one-week FDP on “Artificial Intelligence in the Era of Agents and Automation” organized by VIT, Pune from 30th March 2026 to 3rd April 2026. The FDP focused on emerging trends in intelligent systems, AI-driven automation, autonomous agents, and real-world industrial applications of Artificial Intelligence. The sessions were highly informative and provided valuable insights into future-ready AI technologies.

In additionMs. Rohini Bhorde and Ms. Anushka Joshi, participated in the one-week FDP on “Generative AI for Academia” organized by JSPM’s Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering, Tathawade, Pune from 20th April 2026 to 25th April 2026. The program emphasized the growing role of Generative AI in teaching, research, content creation, academic innovation, and modern educational practices. Faculty members gained hands-on exposure to advanced AI tools and methodologies that can significantly contribute to effective teaching-learning processes.

The active participation of AIDS department faculty members in these FDPs reflects the department’s continuous commitment towards academic excellence, technological advancement, and professional development. Such initiatives strengthen the faculty’s expertise and ultimately benefit students by integrating modern AI concepts and innovative practices into academics and research activities.

Project Enclave 1.0 – Innovation on Display

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) proudly organized and participated in the National Level Project Exhibition – “Project Enclave 1.0” on 30th April 2026. The event served as a remarkable platform for students to showcase their technical innovation, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through various project demonstrations and research-based models.

Around 60 BE students actively participated in the exhibition by presenting innovative projects based on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, IoT, Automation, and Smart Systems. The exhibition witnessed enthusiastic participation and appreciation from faculty members, experts, and visitors who explored the projects and interacted with the student teams.

The event encouraged students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges and helped them enhance their presentation skills, technical confidence, teamwork, and innovative thinking. Various projects focused on solving practical societal and industrial problems through intelligent and technology-driven solutions.

“Project Enclave 1.0” successfully created an environment of technical learning, research motivation, and innovation among students. The AI&DS Department continues to encourage students to participate in such activities to strengthen their technical expertise and industry readiness.

Participation at GMRT Science Exhibition 2026

Students of the SE Computer Engineering Department successfully participated in the prestigious GMRT Science Exhibition 2026 with a quality presentation of their innovative project on “Object Detection for Securing Military Check Point.” The exhibition, organized by the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT), provided a national platform for students to showcase their technical expertise and research capabilities.

Student Team: The project was developed and presented by Divekar Tejeshwar Somnath, Limkar Raghav Ramkrishna, and Dhekale Sumit Satish, who demonstrated exceptional technical skills and innovation in implementing object detection technology for security applications. Their presentation highlighted practical applications of artificial intelligence and computer vision in real-world security scenarios.

Project Significance: The project focused on developing an intelligent security system using advanced computer vision and object detection algorithms to enhance security at military checkpoints. The system utilizes state-of-the-art machine learning models to identify and classify objects in real-time, providing automated threat detection capabilities. This achievement reflects the department's commitment to innovation, research, and intellectual contribution in emerging areas of computer engineering, particularly in the domains of AI, cybersecurity, and defense technology.

Mentorship and Guidance: The project was successfully executed under the valuable guidance of Dr. Ashish B. Manawatkar, HOD CSE(DS) and Mr. Sachin Nikam, GMRT Project Mentor, whose expertise and mentorship played a crucial role in shaping the students' technical capabilities. Their continuous support and technical insights helped the students overcome challenges and deliver a high-quality project that received appreciation at the national-level exhibition.
